In the previous non-profit organization that I worked with, I have seen missionaries from different countries which acted like the monkey. I, on the other hand, acted like the same in my workplace sometimes, however, I made sure to communicate my motives after the action which leads to minimal misunderstanding. I think, good open communication and better comprehension are the some of the ways that we can lose our squareness in another culture.
