The founder of Buddhism is Siddhartha Guatama Buddha. He was a Hindu prince of the Kshatirya caste. For his first twenty-nine years, he enjoyed the opulent lifestyle of a privileged prince. Then he became depressed with the suffering and the transience of life. In this segment of the lecture David Shenk explains how Buddha became enlightened while meditating under a Bodhi tree.
