In Acts 13 God in his providence sent Barnabas the son of encouragement to help the church  move to the stage of loving each other.  In this section of the lecture "Real Churches Develop Naturally" Richard Thompson:

- tells one of his favorite stories which pictures loving relationship in a church, the story of D.L.Moody;

- uses the illustration about a wagon with square wheel to emphasize the importance of gift-oriented ministry;

- retells one of his favorite fables that describes the opposite of the empowering leadership
