In 2 Timothy chapter 2, verses 20-21, Paul uses an analogy to help him make a point.  Bruce Dick calls this first section of two verses: Being a vessel for Useful Service. Before Paul tells us what to do or where to go or how to live, he begins by offering this analogy to help us be sure we are being the kind of person and church God can use.
