A

Anxiety disorder

A category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events.

Bitterness

Bitterness is known in the Bible as spiritual poison and a means by which many are defiled.

Consecration

An act by which a thing is separated from a common and profane to a sacred use, or by which a person or thing is dedicated to the service and worship of God.

Conversion

In its current popular usage it refers to someone who has come to Christ or become a Christian. The biblical roots of the concept involve the use of two terms that mean "to turn".

Eradication

What some sincere believers aim for. They dedicate themselves to prayer and fasting in hopes that God will completely remove their old nature, leaving them incapable of sin.

Folly

Persons who do not possess wisdom are called “fools”; their behavior is described as “folly.” The picture which emerges from the biblical material is quite simple: folly is the opposite of wisdom, and a fool is the opposite of a wise person. Both wisdom and folly are depicted as philosophies or perspectives on life. The religious person chooses wisdom, whereas the non-religious person opts for folly.

Guilt

A cognitive or an emotional experience that occurs when a person realizes or believes—accurately or not—that he or she has compromised his or her own standards of conduct or has violated a moral standard and bears significant responsibility for that violation.

Lewdness

The word "lewd" is from the Saxon, and means properly "ignorant,""unlearned," and hence low, vicious ( Acts 17:5 ).

Malice

Ill-will; badness.

The care and attention given to someone or something that is growing or developing.
